)It seems to me that you are delicately tiptoeing around the fact that the Palestinians are not occupying anybody's territory and perhaps you should compare the Isreali and Palestinian body counts. Please also note that Hamas won a fair election, but obviously if the party who wins is not to your liking it does not count. I know the arguments, both economic and politic. Please note that I am aware that these same Palestinians have not been promised a Land, by God or YHVH or anybody else for that matter. Is this genocide, ethnic cleansing, power politics or perhaps another holocaust? Or is this not appropriate and politically correct?Andrew Galea | Homepage | 12.27.08 - 3:43 pm | #Andrew Galea | Homepage | 12.27.08 - 4:11 pm | #

Yes, Hamas won the election. Yes, the Palestinians are not engaged in occupation. No, that doesn't change the fact that the rocket attacks are inarguably worse than useless at this point. Forget right and wrong, we're in the realm of smart and stupid. Thinking that those rockets are going to do anything other than embolden Israel's wingiest of wingers to call for airstrikes and ground offenses and the like is just plain stupid. It also doesn't change the fact that the apportioning of blame appears to be exactly what you're up to here. I don't generally expect people to work to live up to a derogatory and dismissive generalization like the one I just made. I'm almost impressed that you decided to do it anyway.Demosthenes | Homepage | 12.28.08 - 2:43 am | #

You are intellectually flawed, but that that does not surprise me. What is the matter? Can't you debate the matter honestly and forth-rightly?We are talking here about the occupation of territories not only in Palestine but Syria and Lebanon. We are not in the realm of smart and stupid but rather in the realm of money and power in general and oil in particular. You know what those rockets are achieving? That you and I are debating this sorry matter and the THE WHOLE WORLD DOES NOT FORGET.MIGHT IS NOT RIGHT!!I CANNOT FORGET RIGHT AND WRONG.Honestly, tell me how a Jew would react regarding the Holocaust if you gave him this advice?I wonder.......Andrew Galea | Homepage | 12.28.08 - 6:40 am | #

No, Israel will for survive for a while longer, adding a few more years to the 3,000 or more years they've been there. They can't stop the Palestinians from waging war, violence is apparently an integral part of the Palestinian DNA, but they can fight and win the constant wars and respond to the constant attacks. It's the Palestinians who will suffer. A few Israelis, but not many, and fewer than at most times in Jewish history. The point is to survive, which Israel has done and will continue to do. It would be better if the international community and the UN finally acknowledged and confronted the Palestinians' violations of international law, and took some serious measures to protect the Israelis. But until they do that, the Jews can protect themselves. After all, except for a radical few, the Palestinians have no resources, no allies and no international support. They're not much of a threat.mike | 12.28.08 - 10:28 pm | #

Ranting will get you nowhere. Please argue the points I've raised.I have seen an amazing transformation.Someone writes a reasonable analysis of the Palestinian conflict and when he is challenged, instead of addressing the comments and issues raised sets forth as if he were Kol Israel. Astonishing! Such arrogance!Israel cannot, should not and will not be criticised, how can a people chosen by YHVH be criticised?Demosthenes? ha ha ha.I am aware of "goy ehad b'aretz" but surely not to its ultimate and final conclusion (solution)?Baruch Hashem you will see the light, or you will be blind ad aeternum. And thus reep the consequences.Good luck!!!!!Andrew Galea | Homepage | 12.29.08 - 8:34 am | #
